Artist Bio

New Hampshire based artist, Quinn Humphrey, has been

developing her skills as a mixed media artist for many

years. Intersecting textiles and oil painting in primarily

figure based abstract pieces while giving an inside look

into what it means to be a queer individual without making

it blatant. Her paintings are ambiguous, abstracted, with a

dark appeal to them. Using queer staples such as fishnet

fabrics and focusing primarily on the male figure, she

gives you insight to the normalcy of queer lives while also

portraying the hardships that come with them. Her collage's are made in a way that honors counter culture, not only using alternative methods to make them but using motifs reminicent of alternative music posters, and revolving around music. Much of her art reflects her own internal struggles being a queerindividual, many of which are shared by the majority of queer youth. Her art is made in a way that leaves it to be interpreted differently by everyone, creating an internal thought process on how it relates to oneself rather than the collective. With fifteen gallery showings and three magazine publications, she is well on her way to paving a path for other queer artists to have representation in this field.
